The third and final celebration, a pool party in the compound for all his other (non school) friends. A beautiful evening (ie not too hot) by the pool with good friends, good food, and good times.

Johnathan Turns Five! Part 2 - The family celebration at home

The next birthday celebration Johnathan had was at home with the family, a day late on 23rd of June. Unfortunately the day before Susannah fell very ill (fever and vomiting) and spent a night in the hospital on a drip to get over the dehydration. Of course, she was fine the next day and was eating cake!

Mmmmm, this icing tastes good.

Johnathan Turns Five! Part 1 - The school class birthday party

Johnathan tuned five on 22nd of June. The first celebration was before the big day where he shared a school class birthday party with his classmates Jake, Hana, and Anna. They celebrated at Ray's Reef with party games, pizza and pasta, and of course cake.

Susannah went to a Princess Party to celebrate her friend Lauren's 3rd birthday. There were lots of pretty princesses and one spectacular fairytale castle birthday cake!

We decided to get a photographer to take our pictures so that we would have some good family photographs. The photos were taken early in the morning, before it got too hot, at the the souq (traditional market) in Doha. We are very happy with the results even though Susannah was not in the most cooperative of moods...

Johnathan's School Production - The Rainbow Fish

The reception year at Johnathan's school held their annual production during May, it was called "The Rainbow Fish". A spectacular show, with amazing sets, splendid costumes, and star(fish) performances. All the kids loved it and were very proud to put the show on for the parents after practicing so hard for so long. Songs were inspired by Abba and the Beatles amongst others. Johnathan's class, R3, played "the little coloured fish" and performed a dance number to the tune of Mamma-Mia!
