Johnathan Turns Three

Johnathan celebrated his third birthday with about 15 of his friends in the compound clubhouse yesterday. A great (and chaotic) time was had by all and Johnathan was thoroughly spoilt with many fantastic gifts and a delicious chocolate birthday cake. We was very happy with his special day and is having a wonderful time playing with all his new toys.

Our New House

Well, we have finally almost finished unpacking all our boxes - 4 weeks after moving into our new house. Our house is ridiculously big with 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms plus maids quarters. It is in a really nice compound with 23 other houses. The compound is 6 years old and has a lot of trees and plants which is quite unusual for Doha. It also has a great swimming pool (including kiddies pool), a tennis court and a clubhouse with squash court. We have met many of our neighbours and there are some other children and babies which is great for Johnathan and Susannah. Our neighbour has started up a compound newsletter and is organizing social events so that is great. Most of the people living in the compound are new to Doha which is nice as everyone wants to get to know each other and make friends. There are also a lot of Danes living here so we cannot forget all our 'Hej's' and 'Hyggelig's' just yet! Here are some photos of our house and compound.
